TN Polls: Anna Nagar M K Mohan (DMK) Richest With Rs 170.9 Crore,DMK candidate, Tamil Nadu Assembly polls 2016,TN polls candidates assets details

CHENNAI: DMK candidate for Anna Nagar constituency M K Mohan is perhaps the richest among those who filed nomination papers on Monday. He has declared that he and his family members own assets worth Rs 170.9 crore.

He owns around 112 acres of agricultural land in and around Thiruvallur, Kancheepuram and Sriperumbudur, apart from five commercial complexes at various hot spots in the city.

BJP national secretary H Raja, who has filed nomination papers for the T Nagar constituency, has declared that he and his family members own assets worth Rs 1.16 crore.

B Ranganathan, DMK candidate for Villivakam,  who was earlier arrested in a land grabbing case and detained under the Goondas Act, in his affidavit declared that he owned assets worth Rs 5.62 crore and his wife owned assets worth Rs 6.6 crore. DMK candidate for Harbour P Sekar Babu in his affidavit has declared assets worth Rs 19.21 lakh in his name and Rs 1.6 crore in his wife’s name. He has also declared assets worth Rs 4.5 lakh in his three kids’ names.

Beemrao of CPM, contesting in Maduravoyal constituency, declared that he and his family owned assets totally worth Rs 84,807. G Raviraj (Rs 69.94 lakh assets) was the only declared PMK candidate from the district to appear in the nominees list so far. However, it was busy day for returning officers of Avadi and Ambattur constituencies as they saw a maximum number of nominations until Monday.

This was the first time the candidates were asked to certify that they had not been allotted any government accommodation in the last 10 years.
