AAP's foreign funding, Kejriwal says ready for it
Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde on Monday said that the government has ordered probe into alleged foreign funding of Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
"Complaints have come to me. We are probing the matter. ...From where the funds are coming, from which country, what is the source etc. We are trying to find out all these," Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde told reporters here in response to a question on alleged foreign funding of AAP.
The AAP, which has kept all its transactions and donations in public domain by posting details on its website, has so far received Rs 19 crore as donations ahead of Delhi Assembly elections.
The Home Minister, however, said such a probe takes time and indicated that the outcome of the investigation may not come before the Delhi Assembly polls scheduled for December 4.
Shinde said the inquiry has been ordered only with regard to AAP as the complaints of alleged foreign funding were against the new party.
Reacting to the government's move, the party said that they welcome the probe. "We welcome any investigation," AAP wrote on micro-blogging site Twitter.

The debutant party lead by Kejriwal has received most overseas donations of around Rs 2 crore from NRIs based in the US, while Rs 1.14 crore from Hong Kong-based NRIs, followed by Singapore, UAE and UK based NRIs.
