In the 2009 elections, the Congress had won all seven seats and AAP was not even in existence. According to Lokniti-IBN National Tracker poll, the AAP is expected to garner 48 per cent votes in the Lok Sabha elections. It suggests an almost clean sweep of Delhi by the AAP, which is ruling the city in an alliance with the Congress.


The main opposition BJP, which narrowly lost the Assembly elections is expected to get just 30 per cent votes. The downslide of the Congress continues as it is likely to get a mere 16 per cent votes, indicating a total decimation of the party.


The BSP and others are expected to get 3 per cent each. In 2009, the Congress won all 7 Lok Sabha seats in Delhi. Three fourth of BJP and Congress supporters happy with AAP government

delhitrackInterestingly, three fourths of respondents in Delhi have answered that they are satisfied with the performance of AAP government in the city state. It includes even the traditional supporters of both BJP and Congress.


Overall 74 per cent say they are happy with the AAP government. 75 per cent traditional supporters of the BJP and 79 per cent traditional supporters of the Congress are happy with the AAP government.


Only 9 per cent respondents are unhappy with the government. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's popularity is also very high among the voters of Delhi. Overall 76 per cent are satisfied with his performance. Just 7 per cent are unhappy with him.


In the event of another Assembly election in Delhi, nearly three fourths (73 per cent) are ready to give the AAP another chance. Even among those who say who will vote for the BJP or Congress in Lok Sabha polls, majority want the AAP to be in power in Delhi.


Most respondents feel that the AAP's decision to form government with the backing of the Congress was correct. While most of the Congress supporters feel that it was the right move, some BJP supporters also back it.


Seven out 10 traditional BJP supporters are also feel that the BJP did the right thing by not forming the government despite emerging as the single largest party.


The level of optimism about the AAP fulfilling its election promises is still quite high among the voters. It is greater among the upper and middle classes than among the lower classes.


Kerjriwal leads PM race in Delhi
Unlike most of India, Narendra Modi is not the most preferred choice of the voters for the post PM in Delhi. Arvind Kejriwal leads the race with 34 per cent backing him. Modi has 32 per cent backing and Rahul Gandhi has got just 8 per cent backing.
