Dikshit takes on Kejriwal; both claim they will win Delhi polls.
New Delhi: Just a day after the Election Commission announced the dates for the Delhi elections, the two parties in the forefront - Aam Aadmi Party and the Congress have pulled up their socks and addressed separate conferences to convince people to vote for them.
While AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal claimed that his party will win the Delhi polls, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit too expressed confidence that Congress will get a fourth consecutive term. Addressing the press, Sheila Dikshit alleged Arvind Kejriwal of making false claims against her government. "Ask Opposition not to target us on corruption. I would want to ask them to give us details of where the corruption is and not talk without evidence," Dikshit said.
She also said that the Congress will release its election manifesto for the Delhi polls within a week. This even as Kejriwal in his press conference, just minutes before Sjeila Dikshit's press conference, said that his party will win the coming Delhi elections and that it will get the Jan Lokpal Bill passed in the state Assembly on December 29, 2013.
"The Delhi Assembly will be convened at Ramlila Maidan on December 29. The Jan Lokpal Bill will be passed in the Delhi Assembly on December 29," he said. The Congress has ruled Delhi for 15 years and the BJP has been at the helm of MCD for 7 years. But they don't have any progress to show for the time and money that they have spent," Kejriwal said.
