 According to the India Today/CVoter Mood of the Nation survey, Rahul Gandhi is the Congress' best Prime Minister material with 44 per cent choosing Gandhi as their preferred PM. The Gandhi scion's biggest support base is in urban areas with 47 per cent, followed by 42 per cent in semi-urban and 41 per cent in rural areas, indicating an almost uniform choice.

 

 

Manmohan Singh, incumbent UPA Prime Minister

As per the India Today/CVoter Mood of the Nation survey, Congress leader Manmohan Singh is the runner-up to the post of PM, garnering 15 per cent votes. The Congress leader is serving his second consecutive term as the UPA's top man but his popularity has taken a massive beating in the last two years.

According to the India Today/CVoter Mood of the Nation survey, Sheila Dikshit is also one of the contenders to the Prime Minister's post from within the Congress with 3 per cent voters supporting her. Sheila has served as the Delhi CM for three consecutive terms and is the favourite for a 4th term if Congress wins in Delhi again.
