Final decision on AAP participation in Maharashtra assembly election
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is to decide on Sunday whether or not it will contest the upcoming assembly election in the state. A three-day meeting of the party national executive began on Friday and is likely to arrive at a final decision by Sunday evening .
AAP, though, said that it was clear about fighting the 2017 BMC polls. "We believe in changing the system and not simply fighting elections for the sake of it," Mayank Gandhi of the AAP national executive said on Friday.
"We do not want to fight every election that comes our way, but to fight elections where we have a reasonable chance of winning and making a difference." The party said it was working towards creating a base in the state.
