Delhi Polls 2015: Left parties to fight Delhi assembly poll together

New Delhi: Accusing major political parties of failing to provide solve the problems faced by the people in the national capital, Left parties have come together to fight Delhi assembly elections to provide an alternative.

Leaders of Delhi units of seven Left parties- CPI (M), CPI, CPI (M-L)-Liberation, AIFB, SUCI (Communist) RSP and SP-I decided on Tuesday in the meeting to contest the coming Delhi assembly elections jointly, said a release.

The Left parties have come together to put forth the alternative policy framework and understanding on these basic issues. It said the major political parties of Delhi - BJP, Congress and AAP- have "completely failed" to provide any viable solution or policy framework to address the basic issues faced by the people of Delhi in their daily lives.

"All these parties are busy announcing free sops to the people and indulging in mudslinging at each other. The reality is that the problems related to livelihood, water, electricity, health, education and housing will remain unsolved until and unless the government is willing to abandon the anti-people path of the current neo-liberal policy regime," the joint statement added.

Leaders of the Left parties who participated in the meeting include PM S Grewal and KM Tiwari (CPI-M), Dhirendra Sharma and Dinesh Varshney (CPI), Sanjay Sharma and Surinder Panchal (CPI (M-L)-Liberation), Dharmendra Verma (AIFB), Pratap Samal and Prem Sharma (SUCI-C), Manvendra Nath Singh (RSP) and Prem Singh (SP-I).
