BJP likely to announce list of candidates tomorrow

New Delhi: Following the announcement of date for the Delhi assembly elections, political hustle and bustle is seen in every nook and corner of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters at Ashoka Road in national capital. A meeting presided by party president Amit Shah and also attended by several senior leaders was held on Monday to draw a blue print for the assembly elections.

According to party sources, issues such as ticket distribution and election manifesto were discussed during the meeting and if sources are to be belived the saffron party may announce the list of candiaites for the assembly polls on January 14.

Delhi party-in-charge Prabhat Jha, state BJP chief Satish Upadhyaya, state general secretary Vijay Sharma, three general secretaries-- MP Ramesh Bidhuri, Asish Sood and Rekha Gupta-- Union Minister Dr Harshvardhan, Lok Sabha MPs from Delhi Meenakshi Lekhi, Manoj Tiwari, Uditraj, Pravesh Verma and Mahesh Giri were also present in the meeting.

Besides former party general secretary Vijay Kumar Malhotra, Vijay Goel, Mangeram Garg and Vijender Gupta have attended the meet.

Meanwhile, after the grand victory in 2014 Lok Sabha elections and also in the recently concluded assembly elections in several states, conquering Delhi will be a prime agenda for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party president Amit Shah. The election results of Delhi will also have a major impact on Bihar assembly polls which is likley to be held in the later part of this year.

Delhi assembly elections is scheduled to be held on February 7 and result will be declared on February 10. With 12 reserved seats for Schedule caste(SC) Delhi has 70 Assembly constituency seats.
