Sadhvi’s Delhi jan sabhas to continue

New Delhi: BJP on Wednesday refused to bow down to the uproar caused by Opposition parties and decided to give Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti's a second chance. She will address a jan sabha at Gole Market in New Delhi assembly constituency on Thursday. Delhi BJP members say she will hold at least 3-4 more sabhas in the next few days.

"Question does not arise at all. There is no question of the minister resigning at all" Parliamentary Affairs Minister M Venkaiha Naidu told reporters outside Parliament. "Let the Congress remember what they have done with regard to Beni Prasad Varma. What is the language they have used against former Prime Minister," Naidu said.  But now all MPs have been told to stick to development work done by the Centre and 49 day of AAP's misrule while addressing jan sabhas. "We have told our district workers to brief the MPs before the jan sabhas about the key issues of the area. We will attack AAP for their misrule in the city and Congress for its corruption," said a BJP functionary. In the last two days, MPs have ensured that nothing inflammatory or sensitive is said by them during the gatherings so that the opposition doesn't get a chance to attack BJP.

As part of campaign strategy, the party is planning to organize at least 2,400 sabhas till December 20. But BJP workers aren't sure if they can organize them in such a short durations.

The state unit is working out a strategy to achieve the target set by BJP chief Amit Shah. Though Shah had directed Delhi BJP to engage 320 MPs and organize 2,700 sabhas, party sources say not all MPs will be able to campaign. On Thursday, the party has planned 30 jan sabhas in areas including Trilokpuri, Okhla, rural villages, among others.
