Elections begin in Bihar 2010, First Phase of Polling in Bihar completed successfully with 53% voting, Bihar Elections begin, Bihar Assembly Elections 2010 begin

Oct 21: Nearly 53% of the total voters, which is nearly 1.07 crores,  voted in first phase of Bihar Assembly elections. In first phase the elections were held in 47 assembly constituencies out of 243 total bihar assembly constituencies.

Over all the elections went on smoothly and without any distrurbances. With few people nearly 150, having being held for trying to disturb polling

There were 635 candidates in the first round. Most constituencies out of 47 were rural and there were 10,868 balloting centres.

Districts were polls were held on 21st oct are :- Kishanganj, Araria, Purnia, Madhepura, Saharsa, Katihar, Supaul and Madhubani
