The Zionist Union and the Likud are predicted to win 27 seats respectively in the 120-member parliament, according to the exit polls conducted by Israeli Channel 1 and Channel 2. Another exit poll conducted by Channel 10 gave the Likud one seat lead over the center-left Zionist Union.
Mushir al-Masri, a senior Islamic Hamas movement leader from Gaza, told reporters that "Hamas doesn't count so much on the results of the Israeli elections because we see no difference between right and left."
"Both race and compete on more of Judaizing Jerusalem, increasing settlement, keeping the military occupation, targeting our people and committing massacres against them," said al-Masri.
