A day after the announcement of holding election of state and provincial council in two phases, Nepal Election Commission has unveiled the plans for the election.
As per the schedule released by Election Commission late on Thursday, 32 districts will go to polls in the first phase of the election.{loadposition googlead}
Ahead of the state and province, Nepal is set to hold the final rounds of local polls in Province no. 2 on18th of September, the homeland of Madhesi Leaders under the leadership of whom marathon protest was held in 2015, demand for the amendment of the Constitution.

Pakistan Muslim League party wins PoK election, Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, Raja Farooq Haider,Kashmir Valley,Nawaz Sharif,Pakistan Muslim League,Bilawal Bhutto Zardari,Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, AJK elections

Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's Pakistan Muslim League (PML) party won 31 of the 41assembly seats in the vote held on July 21. Haider is the regional chief of the PML, who spearheaded the party to victory. As many as 427 candidates of different political parties as well as independents had contested the election. Haider is believed to be only the second Kashmiri origin prime minister of the PoK, after Khan Abdul Hameed Khan, who had assumed office in 1975.

The official PPCRV Results declared that the mayor of the southern city of Davao i.e Rodrigo Duterte had more than 14.8m votes - about 39% - with 90% of ballots counted.

Manuel Roxas is in second place with 9m (23%). The winner is decided on a simple majority of votes cast.

With nearly 90 per cent of the vote counted early on Tuesday morning, Mr Duterte had an insurmountable lead of 5.92 million votes over his nearest rival, administration candidate Mar Roxas. It's with humility, extreme humility, that I accept this, the mandate of the people," Mr Duterte said as the results came in. "What I can promise you is that I will do my very best not just in my waking hours but even in my sleep."
Mr Duterte had 38.65 per cent of the vote, with Mr Roxas on 23.16 per cent and Senator Grace Poe in third with 21.71 per cent, according to PPCRV.

Voting closed in Philippines election, Duterte leads in early counts
Voting ended at the Bilbao Watkins Elementary School on Monday, May 9. According to Bacolod City Mover Jhon Casinas, board of election inspectors already processed the initial tally of votes at 4 polling precincts.

Colombo,(IANS) Former Sri Lankan president Mahinda Rajapaksa would contest as a prime ministerial candidate in the August 17 parliamentary elections, a source said on Sunday.

Asia Election: Sri Lanka's ruling party to go it alone in parliamentary polls
Colombo, (IANS) Sri Lanka's ruling United National Party (UNP) on Friday announced it would contest the upcoming parliamentary elections independently, an official said.

UNP senior member and Plantation Industries Minister Lakshman Kiriella told journalists in Colombo that the party's decision to contest solo was taken at the UNP working committee meeting held on Friday morning to discuss the elections.

Kiriella said the committee has also decided to allow UNP leader, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, to appoint a nominations board to select the UNP candidates who would contest the parliamentary elections.

The ruling UNP has been in the recent weeks calling on President Maithripala Sirisena to dissolve parliament immediately, stating that the 100 days' mandate it had been given since the January 8 presidential election has come to an end.

Deputy Foreign Minister Ajith Perera said last week the party would make a written request to the president to dissolve parliament without further delay in order to elect a new government.

Speaking to Xinhua news agency on Friday, Perera expressed confidence in winning the parliamentary election so that the UNP could continue in government despite claims by the opposition that the present minority government has lost the confidence of the people.

"The opposition is weak. We are confident we will win," he said.

President Sirisena has assured the political parties that the parliamentary elections would be held once the 20th Amendment to the Constitution, which includes key electoral reforms, is passed in parliament.

The amendment is expected to be presented to parliament in the coming weeks after which its immediate dissolution is expected.
