Jayalalithaa to be sworn in as TN CM today at 12 noon,DMK’s Stalin, Venkaiah Naidu,Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa,AIADMK,Madras University,Jayalalithaa, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Tamil Nadu Assembly elections

Here are the live updates:

12:22 pm: The swearing-in ceremony ends.

12:20 pm: The new Cabinet has two professional doctors, three lawyers, and six post-graduates. The newly-inducted Cabinet Ministers take a group photograph with the Chief Minister.

12:16 pm: The newly elected Cabinet has four women including Ms.Jayalalithaa.

12:10 pm: The newly-sworn in Ministers take the oath of secracy en masse.

12:06 pm: The new Chief Minister takes the oath of secrecy.

12:05 pm: Amidst loud applause, Jayalalithaa takes the oath of Chief Minister office, in the name of God. This is her sixth term as Chief Minister of the State.

11:40 am: Ms. Jayalalithaa leaves from her residence for Madras University where she will be sworn in as the CM of Tamil Nadu

All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) chief J Jayalalithaa will be sworn in as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on Monday.

 

This is for the first time since the death of former chief minister MG Ramachandra Menon, who is popularly known as MGR, in 1987 that a party will return to power for a consecutive second term in Tamil Nadu.

 

The swearing-in ceremony will be held at the Centenary Auditorium at the Madras University at 12 noon.

Tamil Nadu Governor K Rosaiah will administer the oath of office to the Chief Minister and 28 members of the cabinet.

AIADMK general secretary and Chief Minister Jayalalithaa and her 28 Cabinet colleagues will be sworn in by Governor K. Rosaiah on Monday at the Madras University’s Centenary Hall.
