Palair MLC Bypoll 2016 schedule candidates result opinion poll ,Palair (Telangana) byelection2016 result dates, Palair by-election 2016,Nageswara Rao,Telangana bypoll 2016
The byelection to the lone Legislative Council seat, which remained vacant after the resignation of roads and buildings minister Thummala Nageswara Rao, will be held on October 17.
Nageswara Rao contested the byelections for Palair Assembly segment. Later, he resigned as a MLC on May 23 this year, though his tenure was till June 3, 2021. The vacated Council seat was under MLA category.

According to the election schedule issued on Monday, the election notification will be issued on September 26 and the last date for filing of nominations is October 3. The polling would be held on October 17 and the counting will take place on the same day. With the ruling TRS having absolute majority, the party is likely to wrest the seat. According to sources, former minister and senior leader Mohd Fareeduddin might be given the seat.
