New Delhi: Notwithstanding the fact that many political pundits see Modi wave as diminishing, 70 percent still want Prime Minister Narendra Modi to return to power after completing the first five years of his tenure, claims a survey.

In a survey conducted by Centre for Media Studies, 70 percent people want Modi to remain as PM till 2024 and 62 percent people are satisfied with his performance.

However, 50 percent of people surveyed also believe that there has been no change in the condition of the country ever since PM Modi assumed office.

Also, 15 percent feel that the situation has further deteriorated in the past two years and 43 percent think that the benefits of schemes and policies for underprivileged are not reaching to the poor people in Modi's regime.

The survey had included around 4,000 respondents across rural and urban areas of 15 states.

When asked about the performance of Modi's Cabinet so far, the survey found that many appreciated works done by Sushma Swaraj, Rajnath Singh, Suresh Prabhu, Manohar Parrikar and Arun Jaitley, but were unhappy with ministers like Ram Vilas Paswan, Bandaru Dattatreya, JP Nadda, Prakash Javdekar and Radha Mohan Singh.

Performance of Smriti Irani was rated average by many.

Moreover, people have given thumbs up to the performance of Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Railways and Finance.

The assessment of ministries and Union Ministers was done based on four parameters - media presence, extent of activity on social media uilisation of MPLAD fund and people's opinion, says the survey.
