Stepping up efforts to trace elusive suspects in the L K Advani pipe bomb case and right wing leaders Ramesh and Vellaiyappan murder cases, the Crime Branch CID has printed one lakh posters announcing a cash prize of Rs five lakh each on each of the four suspects.

This is perhaps for the first time in the crime history of Tamil Nadu that as many as one lakh posters have been printed by police announcing a cash prize of Rs five lakh (totalling Rs 20 lakh) on heads of each of the four suspects -- 'Police' Fakruddin (35), Bilal Malik (25), Panna Ismail (38), and Abu Backer Siddique (45).

The posters in Tamil and English are being displayed at vantage points across Tamil Nadu to get inputs from the public on the accused.

"We have now printed one lakh posters providing details, including identification marks on the four suspects. These are being displayed at railway stations, bus terminuses, police stations and all other important places where people congregate," a senior CB-CID official told PTI.

"Also, we are looking at the possibility of using media like Doordarshan and AIR," the official added.

A Special Investigation Division (SID) under the supervision of Director General of Police, CB-CID, was formed on the instructions of Chief Minister Jayalalithaa to nab the culprits in the murders of BJP leader 'Auditor' Ramesh and Hindu Munnani senior functionary Vellaiyappan.

Police had also announced an additional cash reward of Rs two lakh to those who furnish 'useful information' leading to the arrest of other persons involved in the twin murders.

As many as 10 police teams are in different parts of Tamil Nadu and neighbouring states to nab the suspects, sources said.

According to the investigators, 'Police' Fakruddin, Bilal Malik and Panna Ismail are involved in the 2011 Tirumangalam (Madurai) pipe bomb case besides being wanted in the murders of Ramesh, Vellaiyappan and the April 17 BJP Bangalore office bombing case.
