Delhi Assembly Election: BJP asks Jagdish Mukhi to take legal action against AAP

The Delhi BJP has asked its senior leader Jagdish Mukhi to take legal action against the Aam Aadmi Party, after the AAP projected Mr Mukhi as saffron party’s chief ministerial candidate.

The AAP posters can be spotted on autorickshaws these days in which the party is seen “projecting” Mr Mukhi as the BJP’s chief ministerial candidate against its chief Arvind Kejriwal.

The BJP clarified that it had not declared its CM candidate so far for the upcoming Delhi Assembly polls. Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhyay said that his party had not declared its chief ministerial candidate so far and questioned how the AAP could run such a campaign. “Since the issue involves Mr. Mukhi, we have asked him to take cognizance of the matter because the AAP is wrongly using his photo. He should take legal action against the AAP,” he said.

Meanwhile, Mr. Mukhi, who spoke at a programme in Janakpuri, said that if his party formed the government in the Capital, Delhi would get the status of a full State. “The population of Delhi is going to touch two-crore mark. But due to prevalence of multiplicity of authority system, people have to run from one authority to another to get things done,” he said.

Meanwhile, a delegation of lawyers led by Mr Upadhyay on Monday met Union law minister Sadanand Gowda and urged him to increase the pecuniary limit of the district courts in Delhi.

The Delhi BJP said it was decided that the Union law ministry will forward the legislative proposal. In addition, Mr Gowda will make a statement on the floor of the House on December 18. Speaking at a programme on Monday held in Janakpuri, BJP leader Jagdish Mukhi said that if his party forms the government in national capital, Delhi will then get the status of a full state.
