New Delhi: As chaos prevailed at Arvind Kejriwal's first 'Janta Darbar' on Saturday, the new Delhi Chief Minister promised the people of the city that better arrangements would be made next time.

When the Janta Darbar - organised at Indraprastha Extension - was suspended following overcrowding and chaos, people thronged to the front side of the Delhi Secretariat and demanded that the CM hear them out.

Kejriwal, who said he was forced to leave the Janta Darbar midway as a stampede-like situation had arisen, then addressed the crowd from the boundary wall of the Secretariat and assured them of action on their problems.

He also appealed to the people to leave the Secretariat premises.-"Zee News"

The chief minister was taken to his office by police personnel after the crowd at the public meet outside the Delhi Secretariat went out of control.

Kejriwal came out after a short while and asked the people to go back.

The chief minister stood on the boundary wall of the Secretariat and told the crowd that their problems will be addressed at the next meeting.

The entire Delhi Cabinet was present at the meet in Indraprastha Extension to attend grievances of the citizens.

Kejriwal convened the meet to directly interact with the common people and resolve their problems.

Thousands of people had gathered at the venue since 9am.

Police had put up barricades along the road outside the Secretariat as well as other arterial roads nearby but surging crowd went out of control creating chaos at the venue.According to 'timesofindia'

The opposition BJP slammed the event. "The government is doing it for elections, not for people," Delhi BJP's Vijay Goel said.

"As Dy CM for 7 yrs I used to hold JANTA DURBAR every week.Well organised,no chaos.AAP believes more in symbolism then content (sic)," Mr Goel's colleague from Bihar, Sushil Kumar Modi, tweeted.

Mr Kejriwal's associate from his anti-corruption movement days, Kiran Bedi, also took a dig, "For God's sake,Arvind and Team,Secretariats are not run from Roof Tops! Pl take time to listen/absorb! And then take considered decisions!"

Among the people waiting for their Chief Minister was the family of a four-year-old boy, who was crushed under a bus on December 31. The parents - father is a daily wager and mother a domestic help - allege the police refused to act against the driver.

On Thursday, Mr Kejriwal had announced that his entire cabinet will sit outside their offices at the Delhi Secretariat on Saturday every week and hear grievances from people and try to solve them. On weekdays, he said, one minister will hear grievances from the public.Source-'NDTV'
